Radike Samo – X Man!

Durable Wallabies loose-forward Radike Samo was one of the most experienced men on the field when the Aussies ground out a hard-fought win in Argentina last weekend, and he donned X Blades to get the job done.

His boot of choice, the X Blades Legend Sleek SG, blends support and stability with comfort and fit, utilising a soft but robust leather upper. Further comfort is provided by the cushioned heel, while the central lacing system creates a traditional feel.

Six strategically placed studs make this a boot ideally suited to the grunt work required of forwards at international level, with the blades ‘graduated’ to reduce stress on the lower limbs.

The Fijian born loosie made his debut for the Wallabies in 2004, playing just 6 tests before heading to Japan to take up a lucrative contract. He was offered a life-line back in to Australian rugby when called in to an injury-ravaged Reds squad in 2010, and performed so well that he earned a test-recall under new Australian coach Robbie Deans.

Since then Samo has been an integral part of the Wallabies, representing them at the World Cup, where they lost to eventual winners New Zealand in the Semi-final. During that tournament the versatile Samo even played on the wing, earning a start in the Pool Match against Russia when regular winger Drew Mitchell withdrew through injury.
