2012 adidas Predator Incurza Rugby Boots
Ever since the launch at the beginning of the month of football’s Predaor Lethal Zones, we’ve been eagerly expecting the next Predator for rugby. It appears adidas are not going to disappoint with Ireland stars Brian O’Driscoll and Jonathan Sexton both spotted training in the new Predator Rugby TX ahead of their tour match against the All Blacks in New Zealand on Saturday.
There is no official information on the boots as yet, so we can’t tell you what the T stands for, but what we have managed to find out is they’ll be on sale from August 13th and they’ll be micoach compatible. They’ve also taken one or two zones from the LZ, that have been used to enhance kicking power and accuracy, so these boots are again going to be popular with kickers and fly-halves/first five eights.
Those zones can be seen in the image below on the forefoot, the image is of the Absolado, so it looks like the full blown version, but does not have the technology. You can spot the difference with the soleplate on the Predator Rugby TX being split blue and yellow. Another of the stand out aspects of these new 2012 rugby Predators is the new mixed soleplate, with the sprint frame for lightweight stability and the hybrid six stud & TRX TPU outsole offering optimum traction, whislt still using traditional rugby studs.
We have yet to see Dan Carter in these boots, but we excpect come Saturday at Eden Park when the World Champion All Blacks play at the stadium where they won the William Webb Ellis trophy over six months ago, for the first time since that day.
