We’ve managed to get a sneak peak at some of adidas’ 2013 boots that they have in the pipeline thanks to some leaked images, the first of which is the new adizero RS7 III.
The RS7 is adidas’ speed boot, and has been favoured by midfielders and outside backs recently, although All Blacks loose-forward Liam Messam has been known to sport them as well. The RS7 II model was released in a range of colours, including blue with yellow, lime with blue, red with white and black with red, and while the RS7 IIIs that we’ve seen are predominantly blue with lime highlights, we’d anticipate adidas releasing a variety of colourways.
Adidas’ patented Sprint Skin Upper is utilised to make the RS7 as light as possible whilst still being robust and durable, with the rugby version being made to be more robust and hard-wearing than its football counter-part.
The design is slim and minimal, aimed at hugging the foot, and a synthetic print on the striking zone of the boot aims to increase friction and enhance connection with the ball when kicking. A mixture of rounded and moulded studs make this a versatile boot suitable for a wide range of natural surfaces.
We would anticipate adidas debuting the new RS7 IIIs during the 2013 Six Nations. Stay tuned for any more info as it comes to hand.
