adidas 11 Pros on display at the Wellington Sevens
Amongst a host of different boots which various players sported during last weekends IRB Sevens tournament in Wellington Kenya’s Collins Injera and the USA’s Nick Edwards stood out in classic looking adidas 11 Pros.
Made from premium K-leather, the boots are light enough for the pace of the Sevens game, but sturdy enough to handle the rigors of contact which invariably happens. An anatomically moulded EVA insole with flex zones in the forefront aids both comfort and explosive acceleration, while the Traxion 2.0 stud configuration means players can confidently change direction at top speed.
Injera has been the mainstay of the promising Kenyan side for some time now, and was again to the fore on the weekend as the Kenyans went through day one unbeaten, before eliminating the hosts in the Semi-final and coming within a whisker of snaring the title in the final against England.
The Wellington tournament show-cased yet again how much the Americans have improved at the shortened version of the game, with the versatile Nick Edwards contributing hugely to a highly competitive display. A challenging group which featured both England and New Zealand meant there was little hope of the USA progressing to the championship rounds, but nonetheless they proved a tough assignment for their much-vaunted opponents.
