adidas r15 Rugby Boots

Adidas have completely revamped the nine 15 boot in terms of look, fit and performance, to produce the R15. In the process of making them adidas worked with their key players like Richie McCaw, Pierre Spies, Jerome Kaino, James Haskell and Brian O'Driscoll, to produce the new boot. This new boot takes many of the good points developed for the new Predator RX but strengthens it for the forwards.

adidas r15 Features

The r15 uses a Taurus leather which combines Light Weight, High Abrasion and Weatherproof features. This is the same leather used on the Predator RX. Adidas have also Cemented the leather in the forefoot to help prevent shoe deformation and stretching. Meaning the boot will mould to the players feet perfectly. The boot is said to be ideal for second rows all the way out to the backs.

Their is also a new Split Outsole to increase the natural feel of the boot and decrease the weight. This reduction is further helped by a new stud so now the weight of the boot is down by 36 Grams. The insole has also been revamped to offer additional comfort and cushioning.

Finally with the new heel counter Adidas have added a Synthetic Print on the heel lining to help prevent heel slippage. This is the same as used in the predator and it gives the boot a great fit. Colour Black/White.

The R15 replaced the Nine 15 IV SG Rugby Boots made by adidas, they were considered an ideal boot for use on very soft, soft and semi firm ground. They were an agile rugby boot, with shield protection for the player who runs a lot in the open field, The split outsole was super light and a soft leather upper fitted like a glove. The upper was full grain leather for comfort and a soft feel. The shield protection foam offered additional protection in areas needed the most. They had screw in studs for grip on very soft natural grounds.
