Billy Slater Hits Barcelona To Promote The New adidas F50s
NRL fullback Billy Slater recently jetted off to Barcelona alongside Aussie Rules player Dale Thomas, the two meeting up with Spanish footballing legend David Villa as the stars from three different codes helped promote adidas’ new F50 adiZero III.
The Australian sports icons spent two days in Barcelona, travelling round the city, filming footage for the promotion of the boots, and meeting fans. The F50 is adidas’ ‘speed boot’, designed to be incredibly lightweight yet robust, whilst also enhancing a kickers ability to connect with the ball effectively and to generate power.
The innovative single layer synthetic upper, combined with adidas’ SPRINTWEB technology has enabled the manufacturers to retain the F50’s featherweight status whilst creating a boot which increases stability and helps with explosive take-offs and changes in direction when sprinting.
Stability is further aided by the sprint frame construction and the stud configuration, while comfort is a given thanks to the anatomically shaped insole with synthetic suede finish. Compatible with adidas miCoach, the F50 is one of the most technologically advanced boots on the market, and will be popular with outside backs and speed merchants across all footballing codes.
Slater, who played an instrumental role in helping his Melbourne Storm side lift the NRL title this year with a comprehensive win over the Bulldogs in the Grand Final, will again have the weight of expectations on his shoulders when the 2013 season kicks off, with the talismanic fullback already being hailed as one of the greatest to ever play the game. Along with his Grand Final winners medal he was also an integral part of the Queensland State of Origin side which continued it’s dominance over NSW this season, and was a senior member in the Kagaroos when the Australian national team took the field.
