Chris Ashton shines in the Nike T90 Laser IV
Nike couldn’t have wished for a better advertisement for their new T90 Laser boots than that which England winger Chris Ashton provided during his side’s startling defeat of the All Blacks at Twickenham recently, with pictures circling the globe of the experienced winger soaring through the air on his way to the try which sealed victory.
Version IV of the hugely successful T90 Laser series of boots sees Nike employ an all-over Kanga-Lite upper, which is durable, hugs the foot, and absorbs up to 20% less water than natural leather.
A memory foam insert inside the boot and an adaptive shield across the in-step are just some of the innovative measures Nike have employed to enhance accuracy when kicking, while the TPU outsole and the hybrid combination of moulded and interchangeable studs enhances a players ability to accelerate and generate power, whilst making the T90 Laser ideal on a wide variety of natural surfaces.
The 25 year-old Ashton, a duel international who played previously for Wigan in the 13-man game’s Super League, has made himself a regular feature in England’s starting line-up, with the Saracens’ player slotting straight back in to the top 15 following his return from a recent injury. He undoubtedly forms an integral part of Stuart Lancaster’s planning as he looks to capitalise on his sides’ historic win over the reigning world champions, ahead of the World Cup in 2015.
