Folau makes Super XV debut in Under Armour boots
Code-hopping Israel Folau made his first appearance in the Super XV on the weekend, donning a Waratahs jersey and a pair of Under Armour boots as his New South Wales side lost to arch rivals the Reds in Round Two of the tournament.
Folau, who made his name in Rugby League with the Melbourne Storm and the Maroons’ State of Origin side, enjoyed a brief, and indeed unsuccessful stint in Aussie Rules, before signing up for the 15-man game.
His Under Armour Hydrastrike Pro boots featured a custom design along with the regular soft k-leather and the innovative Corespeed plate on the outsole. A die-cut 4D Foam foot bed provides optimal comfort, while a combination of strategically positioned studs and blades ensures maneuvering on natural surfaces is done with ultimate confidence.
Folau impressed in pre-season games for the Sydney-based franchise but was unable to inspire his side to victory in their first competition match on the weekend, as a scoring blitz early in the first half helped the Queenslanders to a 25-17 win.
