Irish Stars Wear Puma EVOSpeed Boots

A number of Irish players in Saturday’s first test against the All Blacks were seen sporting Puma’s Evospeed 1 Euro 2012 SG Boots, but probably of most note was Jamie Heaslip.

The fact that a loose forward was wearing boots designed specifically for speed was indicative of the mobile, fast paced game the Irish backrow intended to play, and for the first half at least they were incredibly effective at poaching the All Blacks’ ball and slowing them down at the breakdown.

The boots, worn also by Conor Murray, Simon Zebo and Fergus McFadden, are some of the most lightweight on the market, and were developed for ‘athletes that deal in speed’.

With an emphasis on a snug and comfortable fit, and featuring interchangeable studs built for play on soft, natural surfaces, Puma strove to achieve a balance of power, traction and maneuverability in their new boot which is already proving incredibly popular.
