Johnathan Thurston Inspires Asics Lethal Testimonial 2 IT Indigenous Design

Johnathan Thurston kept his Cowboys side breathing down the necks of those sitting inside the top four as the North Queenslanders continue to look like one  of the form sides of the NRL.

Throughout the season the champion halfback/stand-off has been sporting Asics Lethal Testimonial 2 IT Indigenous boots, a boot he personally inspired. While the original ‘Testimonial’ proved to be one of Asics’ most popular boots ever, the new colour-way, developed at Thurston’s request and developed to reflect an Indigenous theme, has pushed the Testimonial 2 in to Asics’ core range for 2012.

Combining the innovative technology of the HG10mm midsole with an ‘old-school’ upper made from premium Kangaroo leather, the boot is at once both stylish and functional, being lightweight yet robust, and perfect for those with kicking responsibilities.

Born and bred in Queensland, Thurston has been widely regarded as one of the world’s elite players for several years now, having played an integral role in the record-breaking string of State of Origins victories his beloved Maroons have enjoyed.

Embarking on his NRL career with the Bulldogs, where he was part of the 2004 Premiership winning side, he quickly moved back up North, joining the North Queensland Cowboys in 2005 and helping them to the Grand Final in 2008. He is the only player to have played in all 21 matches of Queensland’s phenomenal winning streak over the last 7 series’, and was the 2011 Golden Boot Award winner for the World’s Best Player.
