Ma’a Nonu Custom-Made CrazyQuick Malice
adidas celebrate Ma’a Nonu’s 100th test match through a special edition CrazyQuick Malice paint-job.
To mark the All-Black’s inside-centre sensation of Ma’a Nonu’s 100th test match for the rugby fanatic nation, adidas and the player himself collaborated to design a unique boot ready for the All Black’s fixture against Tonga in the Rugby World Cup.
Ma’a Nonu reflected on the design process, stating “It’s a privilege to reach 100 tests for the All Blacks, and being able to wear the custom CrazyQuick boots will add extra significance to the occasion. Family is hugely important to me, so being able to include representations of my family into the design is a nice way of having all my whanau with me for this important match.”
The player edition CrazyQuick’s showcase an All-Black themed powerful black base coat of which is transformed through family-inspired animal images and tribal detailing in a grey/silver shade.
Graphics of a shark, panda bear, lion, dinosaurs and various other animals adorn the boot’s make-up to provide a truly distinctive look of which only 20 pairs have been made.
Ma’a Nonu used his custom-made CrazyQuicks to help his team-mates to a convincing 47-9 win against Tonga with the powerful athlete scoring the final try to set up an emotional end to the match and exciting beginning of the knock-out stages of the RWC with a quarter-final tie against France.
