Melbourne Rebel’s James O’Connor gets his evoSPEED 1.2 boots
One of Australia rugby’s most talked about players James O’Connor has unveiled his new Puma evoSPEED 1.2 boots. The fly half is an avid endorser of the Puma v1.11 boot and he now is set to wear Puma’s next-generation evoSPEED 1.2 boot in the remaining Super Rugby matches this season. The Australian international showcased his new boots on Instagram this week.
The evoSPEED 1.2 was first seen in a CAMO version where football players including Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero showcased the special edition boots. The new speed incarnation features bold ‘Puma’ lettering on the instep of the upper creating a boot design similar to Nike’s Mercurial Vapor.
Pictured above is James O’Connor’s own synthetic edition of the un-released speed cleats. The Melbourne Rebels are currently sitting in 12th place in the Super Rugby competition and fourth in the Australian Conference and they look to bounce back from a frustrating 39-33 loss to the Waikato Chiefs where they play 10th placed Stormers at AAMI Stadium this Friday, and O’Connor is likely to wear his new evoSPEEDs in that match.
