Robbie Fruean’s Nike Tiempo Legend IV boots have been seen flying down the sidelines in devastating for Canterbury in the first three rounds of the ITM Cup, as the reigning champions bounce back from an opening round loss to demolish Auckland and North Harbour and get their campaign back on track.
A versatile boot which provides superior traction across all natural surfaces, the Tiempo Legend IV is part of Nike’s ‘Clash’ colourway range, which was released in time for the Euro 2012 Football tournament.
Soft, kangaroo leather across the upper ensures comfort and durability, while the moulded insert inside the boot enhances the fit and further increases the comfort, whilst lessening the threat of injury and foot slippage.
Fruean has been at his barn-storming, game-breaking best for the Cantabrians as they chase an unprecedented fifth consecutive title, under new coaches Tabai Matson and Scott Robertson. Born in Wellington, this former U19 IRB International Player of the Year moved to Christchurch and joined the Crusaders for the 2010 Super XV season, and has been an integral part of the provinces top teams ever since.
Fruean’s recurrent battle with a heart problem and frequent visits to the operating table have stalled his career to date, effecting his ability to achieve optimal fitness and making him at times inconsistent. But when on form he is one of New Zealand’s most devastating and destructive runners, and once he rectifies some defensive fallibilities an All Black jersey will be highly likely.
