Scotland’s Dutch Winger Dons New evoSPEEDs
There were few shining lights for the home-side as the Scots lost 51-22 to the All Blacks at Murrayfield last weekend, but one player who did stand out was winger Tim Visser, wearing Puma’s speed boot, the evoSpeed.
Born in Holland, Visser is the first Dutchman to ever play rugby professionally, so it was fitting he donned the bright orange boots, designed by Puma to be lightweight and to aid players in the pursuit of electrifying pace.
The soft K-leather upper allows the boot to hug the foot, while a robust heel-counter ensures maximum support and increases the wearer’s ability to explode in to action when necessary
Visser, who plays his rugby for Scottish club Edinburgh, has made an immediate impression on the fans of his adopted country, contributing a much needed injection of fresh blood and enthusiasm in to a rugby community which has had little to excite them in recent years.
Visser shone against the world champions, scoring a brace of tries, the first coming when Matt Scott snaffled a lose pass from Dan Carter to send Visser in for the first try of the match, and his next in the second half, as the Scots briefly threatened to surge back in to the game.
Visser is a strong, sturdy winger, with pace and flair, who already ranks as one of the top try-scorers in the current Scotland squad, despite having only played a handful of tests.
