Sergio Parisse now wears New Adidas R15 II Rugby Boots
Sergio Parisse the Italian and Stade Francais No 8 who was man of the match in Rome against England has changed his boots maker from Nike to Adidas. The Italian captain had been in the Nike Tiempo Legend Rugby Boots for a several seasons however he changed for the opening game of the Six Nations against France where he could be seen in his new boots; the Adidas R15 II SG Rugby Boots White, Black & Blue.

For many seasons he could be seen Nike boots, but now he has switched to the lightweight R15 series and his are the new version in white, black and blue.

The R15 II comes in both a soft ground version as worn by Sergio, but also a firm ground as well.
Adidas have reworked the boot from the previous version for look, fit and performance, working with their key players like Richie McCaw, Pierre Spies, Jerome Kaino and James Haskell to offer the ideal boot.
The R15 II uses a Taurus leather which combines a natural look, Light Weight, High Abrasion and Weatherproof features. This is the same leather as used on the Predator RX. Further Adidas have Cemented the leather in the forefoot to help prevent shoe deformation and stretching, so the boot will mould to the players feet perfectly. It is said these boots are ideal for second rows all the way to backs.
The Adidas R15 II rugby boots are perfect for someone in Parisse’s position at the back of the scrum as they are light in weight so the wearer has a possible advantage over the opposition being able to reach top speed quicker and being more light on their feet. One of the reasons for the decrease in weight is the new one piece outsole. Adidas have also used a new light weight stud on the boot which has made the boot 46g lighter than its predecessor.
Finally with the new heel counter Adidas have added a Synthetic Print on the heel lining to help prevent heel slippage, again this is the same as used in the predator
This gives the boot a great fit.
