Testing the adidas Predator absolado Incurza SG
Adidas’ Predator Incurza was one of the boots which made the biggest splash in 2012, being worn by some of the game’s biggest stars, including Australian halfback Will Genia and All Black first-five Dan Carter, who had significant input in to the development of the boot. In conjunction with the release of these top-line boots adidas also produced the Predator absolado Incurza, a more cost-effective version which still features some of the innovative technology of it’s more illustrious relative, and a boot which we have recently been trialling.
A soft-leather toe combined with synthetic materials across the rest of the boot creates a natural feel, while the off-centre lacing system enhances the surface area for better contact with the ball. Our ‘tester’ found them an incredibly easy boot to ‘break-in’, something which adidas have obviously put a lot of thought into with the introduction of a soft-heel lining designed specifically for immediate comfort.
The soft-ground version of the absoldao features a hybrid configuration of moulded and removable studs which provided our tester with fantastic traction and grip. He also found them incredibly reliable when kicking, while the ability to utilises adidas’ miCoach technology was an added bonus.
