Young Auckland Star Wears Silver adidas Predator Incurzas
Gareth Anscombe looked the part in his silver adidas Predator Incurzas, and certainly performed like a top class player as he led his Auckland side to a 43-30 win over Wellington in the latest round of the ITM Cup, but that may not be enough to keep him playing Super XV, as rumours circulate that the Blues won’t be requiring the first-five’s services for the 2013 competition.
The Predator Incurza is adidas’s most advanced boot to date. Unashamedly designed for kickers, and with input from some of the game’s finest players, including Dan Carter, the Incurza features two specialist zones, the ‘Sweet Spot’ and the ‘Precision Zone’ ,to aid with both goalkicking and punting out of hand.
An innovative, asymmetrical lacing structure which allows the wearer to personalised the fit of the boot by adjusting the laces increases stability and comfort, while the ability to utilise the miCoach technology makes this a highly advanced boot.
Anscombe, the son of former Auckland coach Mark, made a big splash on the New Zealand rugby scene, representing Auckland in his first year out of High School in 2010. This year he made his debut in the Super Rugby arena, sharing the pivot roll at the Blues with Michael Hobbs.
But it was a poor season from the team as a whole, in fact the worst in the Blues franchises’ rich history, and Anscombe looks set to be one of the casualties, with new coach John Kirwan perhaps feeling the need to populate key decision making positions with experienced players.
